Aromajoin Corporation, founded in Kyoto, Japan in 2012, is the leading startup in scent-controllable technology, originating from the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan. Our main goal is to digitalize aromas and create a new communication channel in addition to words, images, and audio.
Job description
- Develop and maintain the web applications (frontend and backend) that control our Aroma Shooter® devices.
- Build and improve the SDKs and APIs that integrate scent control into PCs, smartphones, VR, and IoT devices.
- Work across the stack with the hardware, firmware, and R&D teams to ship features end to end.
Requirements
- Experience building full-stack web applications (e.g. TypeScript/JavaScript, a modern frontend framework, and a backend language).
- Comfortable with REST APIs, databases, and version control (Git).
- Education: technical college degree, bachelor’s degree, graduate degree, or higher.
- Language: TOEIC 600 or above (daily-conversation level) is an advantage.

Nice to have
- Experience with device connectivity (BLE / Wi-Fi / serial), native mobile, or VR / Unity.
- Interest in sensory technology, fragrance, or human–computer interaction.
Work conditions
- Working hours: 09:00 – 18:00 (60-minute lunch break).
- Overtime: Yes (about 20 hours per month on average).
- Holidays: Discretionary labor system. Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and the New Year holiday (December 31 – January 3, 4 days).
