SHISEIDO HANEDA BOUTIQUE
A display at the entrance of an airport duty-free store. Only the person standing in front of it gets the scent of Ultimune.
Overview
In July 2021 Shiseido opened the SHISEIDO HANEDA BOUTIQUE in the international departure area of Haneda Airport’s Terminal 3 — a store with a lounge where travellers can take their make-up off and do their skincare before a flight.
Near the entrance stands a display. Touch the screen and Ultimune, the house serum, appears; from below the screen, its scent comes with it. Texture through the eyes, scent through the nose — both, without opening a single bottle.
An airport duty-free floor is already full of scent
Duty-free is a corridor of fragrance counters. Every brand is being sampled, and people stream past without stopping. Push a scent into that room and see what happens.
Yours mixes with the brand next door. It settles on the coat of a passenger who never intended to buy anything. And then it goes with them onto the plane — into a narrow cabin, for ten hours or more.
Only for the person at the screen
Aroma Shooter 2 carries scent forward on an air stream. It reaches whoever is standing at the display, and then it clears. Nothing is sprayed, so nothing accumulates in the shop and nothing clings to clothes.
To release scent in the middle of a perfume hall without that scent becoming the hall’s. At an airport, that condition gets strict.
