At the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), we developed a scent-ejection device to realize super-realistic communication based on multi-sensory information. This time, we also succeeded in developing a compact “scent spraying device” capable of instantly combining and presenting six different scents.
By connecting this device to a PC and activating the “scent and image synchronization / editing software” developed this time, you can add a favorite scent to a video. Also, by replacing the scent-source cartridges, it is possible to express a wide variety of realistic scents.
